Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you can help every week or once a year, there are opportunities at Dilworth. Here are some examples of places where you can make a difference:
  • Learning Buddies – some of our students could benefit from the one-on-one attention of an adult. Commitment is once each week for the entire school year. Support could include reading aloud, help with assignments or simply a breakfast or lunch companion.
  • Spring Arts Showcase – help hang student art in the spring in preparation for this wonderful event.
  • Spirit Wear Sales – Be available to help sell spirit ware at PTA and school sponsored events.
  • Campus Clean Up Days – there are several dates on the calendar and more will be added during the year where we gather on a Saturday morning to spruce up the grounds.
  • Media Support – help students check out books, re-shelve books and generally assist our Media Specialist. Shifts available once a week or once a month.
  • Prospective Parents - help plan events to introduce our school to prospective parents and incoming kindergartners.

It's easy to help! Fill out the Volunteer Signup Sheet and send it to the school in your child's backpack or drop it off at the front office. The List of Committee Descriptions gives more detailed information about each committee. Please contact Tammy Jones at tamralynnjones@yahoo.com for more information.

Before Volunteering

It is CMS policy that all volunteers working in the school be registered with CMS. This includes tutoring, working in the classroom and chaperoning field trips. Please follow the link below to register if you have not already.www.cmsvolunteers.com/

If you are new to CMS or haven't registered:
Click on the "New Volunteer? Click Here to Register" and complete the form.

If you were at a different school last year:
Log in and then change the School to Dilworth Elementary and select SUBMIT.

Logging volunteer hours is very important to CMS and is tracked by school. Please do your best to remember to account for all the important things you are doing for Dilworth. Every minute spent on Dilworth Elementary, whether at the school or at home preparing things for the school, is considered volunteering. Keep track of these precious minutes and log them in at regular intervals at www.cmsvolunteers.com/.
